Every now and then you experience a project that sparks something in your soul. That rare moment occurred when I spent two days onsite during production at the Big City Life project in Rome.

This masterful urban regeneration project literally transformed the public housing complex of Tor Marancia. Entire buildings were covered with masterpieces in 43 days. The innovative project leaders collaborated with residents as well as international and local street artists.

The Big City Life project was produced by the impressive husband and wife team, Stefano Antonelli and Francesca Mezzano of 999 Contemporary Gallery. This style of community engagement and beautification is an incredible example of urban regeneration at its best.

The duo has beautifully aligned their passion for working with artists and communities to create this urban regeneration brainchild, Big City Life.

Check out this great video about the project:

Observing Stefano's talented orchestration of the artists and the inner workings of the project was incredible. His leadership and passionate commitment has led to the extraordinary transformation of this neighborhood and community.

What a thrill to be invited to spend time onsite observing the project.

999 Contemporary Gallery is truly making a difference. Incredible work being done here!

Check out the project's website for more stunning images of the murals.
